Before you call me a cowardly sausage,
Let me explain one significant nuance.
There is a huge difference between:
“Quit the game” vs. “Give up the things”.
Sure, if you want to win, you must stay in the game.
But it doesn’t mean banging your head against the wall daily.
Because there might be:
A) Better tool to break the wall than your head.
B) Better way for you to overcome the wall.
C) Better wall for your desired outcome.
It’s closely tied to a strategic business mindset.
Why?
Because the longer you’re in business, the clearer it becomes:
It’s influential not only what you do in business but also what you don’t do.
Probably, you live in the real world like me.
This means you’re aware that you have limited resources of time and attention.
So it’s crucial to have your personal “I don’t do” list.
The things you’re willing to give up for more significant strategic results.
Some examples:
✓ I don’t sacrifice long-term strategy for short-term gain
✓ I don’t work with arrogant people, no matter their status
✓ I don’t chase social status as the main strategy goal
✓ I don’t work on short-term tasks until 12:00
✓ I don’t answer calls or read emails until 12:00
✓ I don’t sell my time as the only and main service
✓ I don’t sacrifice my health for financial results
✓ I don’t buy business services and products spontaneously
✓ I don’t...
Maybe it’s time to give up on these things.
This is exactly how the “less is more” principle works.
It means not only doing the things, that matter in the long run.
But also avoiding things that hold you back at the moment.
The things that pull you off course.
